A year on the street. Twelve photographers. A book of your own.
From Street to Book is Llumàtics' annual course in analogue street photography. It starts in October.
Street photography is not learned in a weekend workshop. It is learned on the street, with time, with mistakes and with a lot of patience. But you learn it far better if you have a frame: references to argue with, a group to share the process with, and someone who reads your work and asks you uncomfortable questions.
From Street to Book is Llumàtics’ annual course in analogue street photography. Twelve monthly sessions, each devoted to a photographer or a foundational movement of the genre. Joan Colom and Català-Roca to start at home. Cartier-Bresson, Robert Frank, Winogrand, Diane Arbus, Saul Leiter, Koudelka, Moriyama, Alex Webb and Martin Parr to widen the gaze. Every session is a different universe. Every session asks the same question: how would you do it?
The format is simple: study of the author in the morning, a practical outing around Barcelona in the afternoon, individual assignments between sessions. One roll per session. Maximum six people. At the end of the year, a real body of work and the possibility of turning it into a photobook.
This is not a course for everyone. It is for those who already know how to shoot in manual and want to go deeper into street photography as a conscious practice, with criteria and with the will to build a style of their own. Anyone who signs up knows they will need better shoes than a better camera.
The first edition starts in October 2026. Six places only.
