Holga Afternoon at Nau Bostik
On October 8th we launched Llumàtics flash workshops with a gathering for lovers and curious minds of the legendary plastic camera.
On October 8th we held the first event in our flash workshop series: the Holga Afternoon at Nau Bostik, a gathering for lovers and curious minds of the legendary plastic camera.
The Holga doesn’t focus, doesn’t meter light, and doesn’t forgive mistakes. And that’s precisely why it’s one of the most beloved cameras in analogue photography. We loaded it with Rollei RPX 400, rated at 1600 ISO to push it in development and get more grain and contrast.
We shot two rolls: one in front of L’Anòmala, a performing arts space at Nau Bostik, with half-second handheld exposures; and another in the Llumàtics studio firing the flash units manually in Bulb mode, since the Holga has no sync connector.
The full chronicle, with all the technical details and more context, is on the pocallum blog.
The next flash workshop is the night of October 31st: «Spirit Photography», where we’ll learn the techniques of 19th-century spirit photographers for Halloween night, at Nau Bostik.
